Description of Volunteer Opportunities/Responsibilities:
Youth Enrichment Program (weekly opportunity)
Each Partner Arms facility has a weekly youth activity on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. These educational and fun activities make a difference to our children who benefit greatly from the programs and from mature, adult role models. Volunteers assist THC staff by helping to implement activities as directed.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of every week between 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Tuesdays: Partner Arms 2, 4506 Georgia Avenue, NW
Wednesdays: Partner Arms 1, 935 Kennedy Street, NW
Thursdays: Partner Arms 3, 342 37th Street, SE
Volunteers will be expected to greet children on time, walk with children to the program site (a short distance), help with the supervision, assist children with the activity, walk with children back to their building, and wait with children until the activity ends at appointed time and/or parents come to take their children home. THC asks for a consistent commitment from volunteers for the Youth Enrichment Program.

Volunteer Work Days
We are always looking for ways to involve volunteers in one-time service opportunities. THC needs groups of volunteers to do manual labor projects around the THC residential properties. Yard work, painting, cleaning and other service projects provide volunteers a chance to use some elbow grease, bond with each other, learn about THC, serve their community, and laugh quite a lot! We plan these opportunities around the needs of THC, as well as a group's differing ages, skill sets, abilities, and calendars.
Suggestions for a Drive to Benefit this Organization: We are actively seeking organizations to donate new bed and bath room linens, kitchen items such as pots and pans, dishes, silverware, and bathroom items such as shower curtains, bathroom rugs, and new towels. These items are needed for the families we serve when they move into our housing programs.
None currently.
