Barbara Harman Invited to Present at Upcoming Conference on Fundraising Development
WASHINGTON, DC; February 18, 2008 — Barbara Harman, President of the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington and Executive Director of the Harman Family Foundation, has been invited to participate on the Meet the Grant Makers opening panel at the March 6, 2008 Conference on Fundraising Development sponsored by Booz Allen Hamilton and Volunteer Fairfax. The opening session will address the current economy’s affect on giving, as well as how corporations and foundations decide which nonprofit organizations to support. Other grantmakers appearing on the panel include Megan Campion from Lockheed Martin, Patrick Dexter from Exxon Mobil, and Tobi Printz-Platnick, from the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation.
“I am encouraging all of our Catalogue charities to attend this day-long conference. The program looks excellent,” commented Barbara Harman. Nonprofit executives and development staff will join together to share best practices and lessons learned in fundraising, with discussions led by expert practitioners and leaders in the field. The program’s sponsors have recruited a range of experienced presenters who will provide practical information, with a focus on the needs of small shops.
