Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington to be Featured on Marketplace Money
The
Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington will be featured in a brief piece on Marketplace Money, Saturday, May 3, at 3 p.m. on WAMU 88.5.
Marketplace Money, from American Public Radio, covers personal finance and major national and international stories that affect the average listener's wallet. Danielle Karson interviewed the Catalogue about our initiative to encourage people to donate a part of their rebate to community-based nonprofit organizations. Manna Food Center in Rockville, a Catalogue nonprofit, also is interviewed. See our press release here:

In support of this initiative, the Catalogue created a new, customized "e-tool" for our 300+ Catalogue nonprofits, designed to be sent out either as an email or a print piece. It invites prospective donors to consider "giving back" a portion of their tax rebate.
Our thanks for this national exposure goes to Georgetown University's
Cause Group, which has been working with the Catalogue on our external communications.
Please listen in.
About the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington
The Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington is an independent nonprofit organization recognized by its annual publication, which shines a light on some of the most effective nonprofit organizations in the region. Small local charities submit applications to be featured in the Catalogue. Reviewers evaluate the applications for distinction, merit, cost-effectiveness, and financial transparency, resulting in a carefully vetted list of trustworthy nonprofit organizations. In less than five years, the Catalogue has helped featured charities raise more than $5.3 million from new donors. Charities receive 100 percent of each donation thanks to support from local sponsors, which include the
Harman Family Foundation,
Meyer Foundation,
Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation,
CGI and
Chevy Chase Trust, among others. For more information, visit
