RUNNING FAR …

The 2nd annual Fairfax CASA Run for the Children 10K Race & 3K Run/Walk is coming up on Saturday at 8 AM — prizes, food, and entertainment all included. Sign up right here. And in running-related events, Girls on the Run founder Molly Barker will share words of wisdom at a brunch to benefit the GOTR of MoCo scholarship fund on Saturday at 8 AM. Admission tickets are sold out, but you can still buy raffle tickets here!

GOING OUTDOORS …

Come roll up your sleeves with the Anacostia Watershed Society on Saturday at 10 AM and help restore the natural beauty of the watershed at Bladensburg Waterfront Park; more info this way. And from noon to 5 PM, Potomac Riverkeeper will host an array of on-the-water activities (rain or shine!) at Gangplank Marina. Learn more and sign up here.

ENJOYING THE ARTS …

Join Bowen McCauley Dance for the 3rd Annual Move Me Festival, a free community event celebrating arts and culture with nearly a dozen local partners, on Saturday at 2 PM. And at District of Columbia Arts Center, both SPIDERMUSICAL (from Landless Theatre) and A Night with the Town Drunk 2 continue this weekend in the evenings.

At the National Philharmonic on Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM, Sarah Chang plays Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto: written in 1830 and inspired by the beauty of Fingal’s Cave. Tickets right here! And on Sunday at 3 PM, Washington Bach Consort offers “Heaven on Earth,” a glorious afternoon of music by Bach. Nab tickets this way …
