Roundabout Century Ride with Calvary Women’s Services

The 3rd Annual Roundabout Century Ride will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016. All proceeds from the event – including the registration fee – will be a tax-deductible donation to Calvary Women’s Services. Calvary offers housing, health, education and employment programs that empower women who are homeless to change their lives. Each rider who participates is strongly encouraged to engage in personal fundraising for the cause. Help them “bike for good!”

The City of Hyattsville Parade: Walk With Art Works Now

Art Works Now will march in the City of Hyattsville’s 130th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, April 16, 2016. We invite you to join our group, wear green, and have a great time waving a the crowd. Following the parade is a festival which includes carnival rides, food & lots of family fun.

New Play Festival (Night 2) with Young Playwrights’ Theater

The New Play Festival is an annual celebration of bold new voices. Each year Young Playwrights’ Theater honors plays from a diverse group of YPT students in a production that celebrates the playwright’s craft. Professional actors, dramaturges and directors collaborate with student writers to create an evening of dynamic theater. YPT is proud to honor the bold, gritty and bright new voices of young writers. A reception will take place at 6:30 pm with a 7:00 pm performance.

Allies in Change Reception with District Alliance for Safe Housing

Join the District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH) at their largest annual fundraiser, Allies in Change, as they take time to honor DC’s “safe housing champions” – the community organizations and people who make a difference for DASH survivors of domestic violence and their families. Inaugural Benefit for Our Military Kids

Over the past decade, Our Military Kids has committed to make a positive impact on the lives of our military families by athletic and educational activities that help to nurture and sustain what our military troops value most – their children. Since 2004, Our Military Kids has provided more than 52,000 grants totaling more than $22 million in direct support to military families around the nation. The Inaugural Benefit for Our Military Kids will bring together friends and supporters from the military, government, and business to help raise the necessary funds to provide impactful support to the children of our military families. On April 21st, City Year Washington, DC will bring together more than 650 guests for our annual Idealism in Action Gala, a night celebrating service, impact, and idealism. All proceeds from the event support City Year’s work helping to keep more than 6,500 DC public school students in school and on track to succeed.

Girls on the Run – DC’s 10 Year Anniversary Sneaker Soiree

Please join Girls on the Run as they celebrate 10 years of empowering young girls in DC! Enjoy a fun evening including a reception, band, & silent auction. Also, they’re excited to welcome keynote speaker Kathrine Switzer, an iconic sports and social advocate. Kathrine showed her LIMITLESS POTENTIAL when she was the first female to enter and run the Boston Marathon, what was then considered a men’s only race. Dress: Cocktail/business attire with sneakers. The Sneaker Soiree, their primary fundraising event, benefits Girls on the Run – DC’s efforts to bring the life-changing program to as many girls as possible, regardless of financial situation.
