Through clinically-based music therapy and expressive arts therapy programs, A Place to Be offers a welcoming, caring environment for people navigating life’s challenges. All are welcome, whether living with Down syndrome, autism, or cerebral palsy, whether grappling with grief, anxiety, or PTSD. Individual and group music therapy sessions, as well as summer camps, day programs, and social groups, encourage clients to discover their strengths while working toward therapeutic goals. A partnership with INOVA hospital offers the largest medical music therapy program in the region, helping clients experience relief, healing, and joy – from stroke survivors to cancer patients, from the NICU to end-of-life. And through performance-based therapy, APTB empowers clients to find and use their creative voices, reminding audiences that, regardless of our challenges, we all have gifts and stories to share. Your gifts are welcome too.
