General Information

  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: Resource Family Volunteer Opportunity:

Interested in making a difference as a family? Generation Hope is looking for volunteers as a family or group - including children - for our Next Generation Academy! Resource Families make a two-year commitment during which you will build a relationship with a Scholar and their child, open your networks, and directly invest in the early childhood success of a teen parent's little one. Resource Families commit to attend at least 6 monthly group dinners annually, connect your Scholar Family with your networks to help with a child's need, contribute at least $1,200/year (or $100 monthly) to the Educational Fund, which helps that child access high-quality childcare, and provide or collect Wish List items and school supplies for your Scholar family. This is a great opportunity to volunteer as a family or group (including children) in our Next Generation Academy! Please contact Sanah Jivani, Community Engagement Manager, at sanah@generationhope.org or at (202) 642-5218 for more information on this unique opportunity!

    HOPE CORPS MEMBER (CHILDCARE VOLUNTEER)

Childcare is an ongoing need for many of our Scholars. When Generation Hope holds special activities, we don’t want lack of child care to prevent our Scholars from participating. We need caring, nurturing individuals to provide child care at various events throughout the year.

The Hope Corps is our childcare volunteer program! Hope Corps Members commit to providing childcare for at least three Scholar events (at least one shift per event) over the course of an academic year. Hope Corps Members are trained on our childcare approach, so as to ensure that all childcare volunteers continue to provide outstanding childcare and fully understand Generation Hope's childcare policies & expectations. *Applicants must complete a background check and a 2-hour training.

    SNACK CREW

When we hold activities for our Scholars, their children need snacks! Our Snack Crew provides juices, waters, small sandwiches, and other munchies for the children to eat (no peanut products). The goodies must be dropped off one hour before the event.
