Founded in 1996, BMDC has energized audiences with inventive and vibrant choreography and extraordinary outreach programs – making contemporary dance accessible for communities that are diverse both economically and socially. Ranging from free family-friendly programs to ticketed concerts, BMDC’s professional company performs regularly throughout the region, showcasing its signature spirited dancers and live music. Each year, school dance programs – including after-school lessons, workshops, summer dance camps, and school shows – reach thousands of kids at more than 25 elementary and middle schools, all at no cost to students. And BMDC is the only dance company in the region to provide Dance for PD: free weekly dance classes for seniors with Parkinson's disease and their care partners. This award-winning performing arts company lifts up communities through the power of dance. You can step up too.
