PWAFC is a true medical home for more than 2,100 low-income, uninsured residents of Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park. Open 40 hours a week, it provides free primary adult and pediatric care, low- to no-cost prescriptions, acute dental services, and behavioral health counseling. But what sets this clinic apart is its dedication to addressing barriers that prevent patients from achieving better health. Translation services and bilingual staff help Spanish- speaking clients fully understand their treatment plans and medications. Free bus tickets, gas cards, and Uber rides enable patients to access care when they can’t afford transportation. And because many patients face challenges in securing housing, education, and employment, PWAFC provides referrals for additional services that go well beyond those typically offered by a clinic. Indeed, it expands the very concept of what “healthy” means – and isn’t that extraordinary?

About the Catalogue for Philanthropy
Each year 120 expert reviewers evaluate applicants for distinction, merit, and impact. Each featured charity has been successfully site visited and its financials given the thumbs up. The Catalogue for Philanthropy charges no fees and raises funds separately to support its work. Since 2003, it has raised over $40 million for charities across the Greater Washington region.
The Catalogue for Philanthropy looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to the Catalogue to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
