The Body Snatcher (1945) is one of the finest of the RKO horror films produced by Val Lewton. With a small budget, Lewton brillantly managed to get high production values with great actors, excellent scripts and dark shadows that sculpted the screen image in to a model of chill. Boris Karloff in his finest portrayal as Mr. Gray, the grave robber, joins with veteran English stage actor, Henry Daniell. The story based on Robert Louis Stevenson's tale of grave robbers in Edinburough, Scotland, directed by Robert Wise.
