Seabury Resources for Aging is dedicated to low-income seniors and those in need of assisted living in Greater Washington. Serving over 3,500 seniors in 35 years, its retirement communities offer 355 units of the most affordable senior housing around -- with volunteer opportunities, activities, meals, and even a hair salon for residents. It also provides home-delivered and on-site meals, transportation coordination and case management, house and yard maintenance (through its Age-in-Place program), and care for those in need at the city-wide Senior Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. For seniors facing difficult decisions about care and housing, Care Management provides home visits to draft and implement plans, and monitors in-home service. Home First offers three group homes for formerly homeless and low-income seniors. Seabury also manages city-wide transportation services for the elderly to get them to medical appointments, the bank, and public benefit agencies. Because of services like these, the local office on aging frequently refers to Seabury cases that no one else can handle. Your gift means help for thousands of our fragile elders each year.
