Seabury is dedicated to low-income seniors and those in need of assisted living in Greater Washington. Retirement communities offer 326 units of the most affordable senior housing around and three group homes serve formerly homeless and low-income seniors. Seabury also provides home-delivered and on-site meals, transportation coordination and case management, and even house and yard maintenance. For those facing difficult decisions about care and housing, there are home visits to draft and implement plans, then monitoring to make sure those plans are working. Seabury also manages transportation to get older adults to wellness centers, day care centers, grocery stores, and special events. Because of services like these, the local office on aging frequently refers to Seabury cases that no one else can handle. Your gift means help for thousands of our fragile elders each year.
COVID-19 Update:
With all district senior meal sites closed, including adult day health centers, Seabury is delivering 5-7 frozen meals on average to 500 customers each day. Care Managers have been communicating with clients and family members virtually, and are now beginning to meet with some individuals in person when necessary. Seabury's activities, including a twice-weekly yoga class, are all being offered online, and staff continue to help families connect through FaceTime with their loved ones.
