  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: At any time, Volunteer Fairfax lists around 60 events on our web portal, offering opportunities that suit individuals with diverse lifestyles, skills, interests, and availability. Our volunteers support agencies that feed, clothe, and house thousands of families in Northern Virginia, and work with the park system, public schools and libraries, and dozens of nonprofits focused on literacy, culture, economic opportunity, and senior support.

    Call 703.246.3892 or email volsrus@volunteerfairfax.org to ask about one-time evening or weekend projects through Volunteers for Change, ongoing daytime opportunities through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, or our community-wide days of service – VolunteerFest in October and family-friendly GiveTogether in January.   • Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; individual/college; individual/high school; families with children; adult groups of less than 5; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams

Give Together: A Family Volunteer Day

Give Together is designed for families with elementary school-aged children to perform hands-on service projects, like making dog toys, valentines, or food boxes, that benefit local charitable agencies. Give Together provides parents with an opportunity to teach their children the values of volunteering and giving back to the community in fun, meaningful ways.
