Whether you have a dispute with a neighbor, business partner, or classmate, the Conflict Resolution Center is there to help broker agreements … and avoid violence, student suspensions, and lawsuits. CRCMC offers free services to anyone (yes, anyone!) who lives, works, or volunteers in Montgomery County. School programs focus on resolving conflict through teacher trainings, dialogue circles, and mediation services. Trained volunteers guide students (as well as teachers, administrators, and parents) as they talk through what happened, address the harm that was caused, and develop a plan for moving forward – a powerful process that builds problem-solving skills while preventing fights and bullying. A prison re-entry program equips inmates returning to the community with the tools and support to peacefully manage their transition. Other clients include couples negotiating child custody, Spanish speakers in need of bilingual mediation, and communities struggling to keep the peace. In 2015, CRCMC mediated over 350 community cases and served over 500 youth, restoring justice, mending relationships, creating safer schools and neighborhoods for us all.
