It's easy to take for granted the ordinary objects that surround and furnish our lives. But for those transitioning out of domestic violence and homeless shelters, nothing is ordinary about a table, dresser, or bed. In 2015, through its Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, A Wider Circle furnished the homes of 4,420 needy children and adults Ė many of whom were sleeping on the floor or storing their clothes in plastic bags. In addition, a Well Mother, Well Baby program offers holistic support to low-income pregnant and parenting teens in the most at-risk schools in DC and Maryland; its Workforce Readiness Program offers comprehensive professional development services; a Wraparound Support Program matches one family in poverty with four families that provide long-term support; and the Neighborhood Partnership Program in Washington DC's Barry Farm provides comprehensive services in one of our regionís most impoverished communities. With 500 calls coming in each day, A Wider Circle continues to expand, welcoming and providing for our regionís neediest. You can widen the circle.

About the Catalogue for Philanthropy

Each year 120 expert reviewers evaluate applicants for distinction, merit, and impact. Each featured charity has been successfully site visited and its financials given the thumbs up. The Catalogue for Philanthropy charges no fees and raises funds separately to support its work. Since 2003, it has raised over $40 million for charities across the Greater Washington region.

The Catalogue for Philanthropy looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to the Catalogue to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
