Of the five million Americans with Alzheimer’s disease, 74% live at home with family and friends, and the number is growing exponentially. As the only licensed day center in the region focused specifically on persons with dementia, IMCC is dedicated to caring for them, and providing education and support for their families. An innovative, early stage program offers opportunities for socialization and cognitive stimulation. Art and music therapy, physical therapy, outings, and Tai Chi are offered five days a week to those with mid- to late-stage dementia. Specialized activities and help with personal care support those with more advanced dementia. Free education and support programs for caregivers and financial assistance to families who can’t afford its services are key. With IMCC’s help – and yours – patients with dementia can age in place, surrounded by loved ones, for as long as possible.

About the Catalogue for Philanthropy
Each year 120 expert reviewers evaluate applicants for distinction, merit, and impact. Each featured charity has been successfully site visited and its financials given the thumbs up. The Catalogue for Philanthropy charges no fees and raises funds separately to support its work. Since 2003, it has raised over $40 million for charities across the Greater Washington region.
The Catalogue for Philanthropy looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to the Catalogue to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
