For its work as initiator and developer of the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington, the Harman Family Foundation was named Outstanding Foundation Partner at National Capital Philanthropy Day on November 20th. The Catalogue is committed to creating and deepening the culture of giving in our region and has helped raise over $9.5 million for great, community-based nonprofits. According to the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the event is “a celebration of the commitment of individuals, companies, and foundations who reflect the highest spirit of philanthropic generosity, dedication, and leadership. These philanthropists are improving and strengthening the efforts of nonprofits throughout the region, and are inspiring others to broaden the impact of community giving. They exemplify the highest spirit of philanthropic generosity and leadership.” Former Award winners in the Foundations and Corporations category include AOL, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Meyer Foundation, Fannie Mae Foundation, Freddie Mac Foundation, Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, The Washington Post, and the World Bank.
