Our first week of “What’s up” Wednesday was such a hit that we’re doing it again! Take a look at what our nonprofits were up to this week…
Anacostia Watershed Society was painting storm drains today in the Brookland neighborhood of DC…
…while CityDance interns showed off their National Dance Day routine in the conference room!
At For Love of Children, students visited Georgetown University, toured the Omni Hotel, participated in community service projects and explored the National Museum of Natural History. During the last “Taste of Scholars” workshop, rising 6th grade students worked in pairs to create posters that reflected their time exploring what it means to be a scholar.
Safe Shores had first backpacks dropped off for child victims for their back-to-school drive! They are taking donations (new) until Aug 8.
Our Daily Bread and Food for Others teamed up to announce the winner of the Complete the Circle FoodRaiser 2014 design contest! The image will be created as a “living painting” on the practice field at Fairfax High School on November 9, using hundreds of community members dressed in event T-shirts that will “color” the image.
At The House Student Leadership Center, they’re continuing to encourage youth development through sports with their summer leadership camp.
Congratulations to these nonprofits on all that they do week after week!
