March Mural Madness
Hands on DC What can you do to make a student smile? How could you alongside hundreds more remake a school into a better place to learn! Register now to volunteer at our 2015 March Mural Madness event. Join us for a day-long service event to brighten and enhance DC schools with a wide variety of school projects that range from educational and school spirit murals to other painting and cleaning projects. The National Conference on Ending Poverty
A Wider Circle The National Conference on Ending Poverty will bring together people of all backgrounds and experiences to learn about successful programs and plan immediate actions going forward. Those who live every day in poverty will connect with those who do not in order to develop stronger connections and more meaningful solutions. The conference will also bring together coalitions of professionals from diverse fields to show their support of and commitment to our neighbors in need.

2015 “Hope Stroll” Indoor Walk & Family Day
Generation Hope The “Hope Stroll” is a fun way to make a lasting impact on young families throughout the D.C. metro area. The event helps fund our work, which increases the number of teen mothers and teen fathers in the D.C. area who become college graduates. Generation Hope is dedicated to reducing poverty one family at a time through education. We need YOU to help us in making sure young parents reach the finish line — a college degree! Walk with us, show your support, and have fun while you do it! The “Hope Stroll” is an indoor walk and family day with lots of fun activities, music, vendors, and entertainment! Scrabble Scramble
Literacy Council of Montgomery County The Literacy Council of Montgomery County will host a SCRABBLE SCRAMBLE to raise money for the organization’s adult literacy programs. Four-player teams will compete to achieve the highest total score. Players will be able to purchase extra letters, buy a peek at a dictionary, and play cooperatively with other team members. Dinner is included, along with a silent auction and raffle.

Adult Literacy Tutor Information Session
Literacy Council of Montgomery County The Literacy Council of Montgomery County will hold an information session for volunteers interested in helping adults learn to read, write, or speak English. Once volunteers have completed the information session, they can select a two-part training session that fits their schedules. No foreign language skills are necessary. Tutors work one-on-one or with small groups, and typically meet with students in libraries or community centers at mutually convenient times.
