The sun is shining. It’s #whatsupwednesday. Coincidence? We think not. Check out the many ways we saw Catalogue for Philanthropy nonprofits “shine” this week (for the video version, click here):
This week, Yellow Ribbon Fund visited the Big Apple, where Stephen Colbert invited injured service members and caregivers to his studio for a taping of the show!
Our Daily Bread is gearing up this week to send 2,000 Fairfax County area kids Back to School, thanks to nearly $25K in donations to purchase supplies through Fairfax County’s Collect for Kids partnership. Dozens of volunteers are helping sort supplies, backpacks and calculators to get out to Fairfax High School, JEB Stuart High School, and the elementary and middle schools that feed into them!
Students from Virginia Tech stopped by the Latino Student Fund’s LISTO college prep program to help participants practice networking!
Revolution: DASH — the youth service learning group founded and run by younger residents at the District Alliance for Safe Housing — volunteered at DC Diaper Bank’s warehouse!
Here’s to another week of Catalogue nonprofits “shining on!”
