4th Annual Night at the Ballpark — for Homeaid NoVA

HomeAid Northern Virginia
Every year, HomeAid sends 200 people from local homeless shelters to enjoy a Night at the Ballpark! Loaded with concession vouchers for free food and drinks, t-shirts, and fun-filled goody bags it is certainly a night to remember for many children and their families! For many of those who attend, this will be their first ball game, so make a donation ($100 will send a family of four!), purchase a ticket to attend the game ($8), or become a sponsor to help send 300 kids and families in need to enjoy a Potomac Nationals game! The Potomac Nationals will be playing the Carolina Mudcats. Triple Play Tailgate starts at 5:30pm Game Time: 7:05pm

Recreational Fishing Day

Anacostia Watershed Society
Please join Anacostia Watershed Society, University of Maryland College Park, and Anacostia Community Museum for a day of recreational fishing! We will provide fishing rods and bait on a first-come, first-served basis (bring your own if you prefer). Each participant will receive a gift card valued at $10 for providing us with your catch (per DC fishing regulations)! All ages and experience levels are welcome. Please register so you can be notified if inclement weather cancels the event.

Canal Stewards – Fletcher’s Cove

Potomac Conservancy
Help the Conservancy clean up Fletcher’s Cove in the C&O Canal National Historical Park! This monthly cleanup day is part of the Canal Stewards partnership with the National Park Service, engaging volunteers to become long-term caretakers of a designated site within the park. Typical activities include picking up trash, pruning vegetation along the trails, and repairing the towpath and trails. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty – we’ll provide all the necessary tools and equipment! This event is open to all ages. Please meet in the lower parking lot.

Family Friendly Warehouse Volunteering

Come help us in the warehouse! Volunteering is family friendly and all are welcome whether it’s for one hour or four. We’ll be sorting and packing diapers and even little hands can help with that (or just play in the play area!). Our Volunteer Dates are a great way to starting talking about giving back and community in a very tangible way that kids can relate to well.

Rooftop Happy Hour Benefiting Girls’ Education

Join us for Happy Hour at the Graham Hotel and Rooftop Lounge and help us send our girls back to school! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of summer and the start of a new school year than a fun evening in Georgetown with great drink specials. $10 suggested donation.
