Where best to leap into the weekend? That would be a free Youth Dance Party with Joy of Motion, Dansez! Dansez! & Imagination Stage Dance Studio from 7:00-9:30 PM on Friday; try out hip-hop, modern, jazz, and tap all in one day. PLUS, at 8:00 PM on Saturday, you can also catch the JOMDC youth company, Urban Impact, performing an exciting fusion of bollywood and hip hop as part of Dance Bethesda.
Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company (641 D Street NW)
In Oedipus El Rey, on stage at 8:00 PM on Saturday & Friday and 3:00 PM on Saturday & Sunday, MacArthur Genius Grant winner Luis Alfaro adapts the “mother” of all tragedies, setting this ultimate story of forbidden love amid the sizzling rhythms of the LA barrio. The show runs until March 6 and you can snag tickets here.

EDGEWORKS Dance Theater celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special program of signature works performed by former and current EDT members, as well as the DC premiere of a new work, “Wilkins’ Trigger,” on Friday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 4:00 PM. Go celebrate with them!
