Help the Homeless Walkathon (National Mall between 9th and 12th Street)

On Saturday morning, join in the nation’s largest walk and benefit a Catalogue nonprofit: Samaritan Inns, The Dwelling Place, Miriam’s Kitchen, and Bright Beginnings are all taking part. Register here — it’s a great way to give back just before Thanksgiving.

Invasive Plant Removal (3911 Hamilton Street, Hyattsville, MD)

Meet up with the Anacostia Watershed Society at Magruder Park in Hyattsville on Saturday at 10:00 AM to remove invasive plants that are harming the park’s native plants and animals.

The Mistorical Hystery of Henry (I)V (Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA)

WSC Avant Bard’s one-evening adaptation of Shakespeare’s enthralling history plays, adapted and directed by Tom Mallan, continues this weekend, Saturday at 2:00 and 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. You can nab your tickets right here.

Family Festival (3225 8th Street NE)

This new festival of inter-generational workshops and family fun performance matinees will feature Dance Place resident companies: REVISION dance collaborative, Coyaba Youth Ensemble, and the Dance Place Step Team. Family classes run all day Saturday with performances on Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 PM — full schedule right here.

39th Annual School Fair (Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place NW)

The oldest and largest of its kind in the region, the Black Student Fund Independent School Fair features representatives from over 50 private day and boarding schools on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Free and open to the public!

Intermediate Concert (Eastern Senior High School, 1700 East Capitol Street NE)

Concert Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, Preparatory Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, Intermediate D Orchestra, Intermediate C Orchestra, and Intermediate Wind Ensemble all take the DC Youth Orchestra stage on Sunday at 4:00 PM after their first five weeks of rehearsal. Calendar right here.
