VISUAL ARTS

On Friday at 7:00 PM, the DCAC opens “Zeitgeist III: Too Much Information?,” the third in a series of periodic group exhibitions of artists exploring contemporary cultural themes; learn more on Facebook. And on Saturday at 2:00 PM, students from the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design‘s Masters of Arts in New Media Photojournalism program will present a diverse selection of work at THEARC, 1901 Mississippi Avenue SE.

TECHNOLOGY

From 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday at Fairlington Presbyterian Church, Computer CORE will offer a 4-hour workshop, in which students will learn the basic functions and capabilities of Salesforce, plus get some hands-on experience! You can sign up .

NATURE

Celebrate River Center Opening Day with Potomac Conservancy on Saturday from 7:45 AM to 12:30 PM: start early with a migratory bird walk and finish with live music from the Irish folk duo Lilt. And at 9:00 AM, join Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment for Invasive Plant Removal Day at either Thrifton Hill Park or Fort C.F. Smith Park. And with Anacostia Watershed Society at 10:00 AM, take part in a Wetland Meadow Restoration at Magruder Park in Hyattsville.

PERFORMING ARTS

On Friday, DCAC offers The Charlie Visconage Show at 10:00 PM — a live, weekly late-night talk show with artists; learn more this way. Head to The Music Center at Strathmore on Saturday for an evening of “All Debussy” by the National Philharmonic; tickets right here. Also at 8:00 PM on Saturday at Strathmore (and Sunday at 6:00 PM), CityDance Ensemble presents “Nruthyanjalie: Traditional and Folk Dance of Sri Lanka by Asanga Domask;” tickets can be found right here. And on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Langley High School, American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras will present the AYPO Percussion Ensemble Concert; tickets are free for music teachers!

ALSO: You can benefit a Catalogue nonprofit! Head for “Laugh Riot for MobileMed” at the Hyatt Hotel, Bethesda, on Friday at 7:00 PM. And at Tysons Galleria Neiman Marcus on Saturday at 11:30 AM, you can “Shop For A Cause” to support Women Thrive Worldwide.
