#WhatsUpWednesday 05.20.15

Happy Wednesday from all of us at the Catalogue for Philanthropy! From Tanzania, to Virginia, to the District, our charities were busy making a difference in their communities. Read on to learn how (and click the picture below for our video)!

2Seeds Network
In Tanzania, Bon Ifas and John, members of the Magoma Project “goat team”, play with their new goat friend. This dairy goat is just one piece of the Magoma Project’s integrated system, which will fund a school meals program for primary students in Magoma. They also have a garden, chickens, and a fish pond!

Senior Services of Alexandria
This week two students, Kate Kaiman and Claire Embrey, from TC Williams High School in Alexandria, VA began a three week “senior experience” at Senior Services of Alexandria. The seniors will be helping out with Meals on Wheels deliveries, stocking Senior Information Corners and working on the grocery delivery program. Welcome Kate and Claire!

Washington Parks & People
This week, Washington Parks & People was busy tending the crops in eastern DC, and landscaping and cleaning the Marvin Gaye Greening Center with folks from the Boston Consulting Group. They were also thrilled to be present and support DC Water as they launch their Clean Rivers Project!

Catalogue for Philanthropy
The Catalogue for Philanthropy is getting ready to announce our new class of 2015-2016 Catalogue charities THIS WEEK, so stay tuned to see if some of your favorites made the list. In the meantime, this week Catalogue President and Editor Barbara Harman joined famed cellist Yo Yo Ma to celebrate the arts in our region.
